Mudita Sanctuary

The animal sactuary of about 20 ha close to Bergerac in France had some issues with errosion and degradation of the pasture areas.

Through a one week consultancy on site we were able to come up with a plan to manage the waterflow over the property in a benefitial way and create more abundance in fodderproduction for the animals, while protecting the pastures and forest, step by step.

Living in, From and With nature

Farmland transformation

This ~3 ha farm had a lot of recourses already at hand.
But the customer did not really know where to start and how to implement Permaculture principles.
Together, we worked on her greatest needs and how these could be met coherently on her premises.

With the site plan and the accompanying slide-deck, we were able to give her a starting point and show her the next steps that are now necessary, to realize her dream of living with and in nature.

Portugal

Permaculture Work-Experiance

Oh what an amazing time we had with this Permaculture Work-Experiance in the heart of Portugal. A dutch couple is reviving an old farm of ~2ha, at the food of the serra da estrela mountains.

Together with a small group of people we installed mainly waterharvesting features such as Swales and a rainwater tank (in ferrocement technique).

Sicily

Tourism & Agriculture

At this ~30 ha large mountain area in southern Sicily, our customer wants to combine highclass tourism and highend Agricultural Products.
To do so we came up with a strategy to master the harsh conditions in the mountain area and bring it to a higher state in succession, fast!
Therefore we implementet a testplot to validate our ideas and adopt according to our observations.

Food, Bonsai & Bees Garden

Garden in layers

This newly established garden will produce a lot of food for its owners and for beneficial insects such as bees. The outdoor area is divided into numerous individual areas. This creates many different flairs depending on where you are in the garden. Given the hillside location, the concept plays a lot with terracing and dry stone walls. They are not just good looking, but also water harvesting structures. Raised beds, berry & herb beds, and fruit trees will provide the young family with fresh, nutritious food. A worm hotel contributes to the garden’s circular economy, so that waste is put to good use. A centerpiece for the optics forms among other things the Bonsai Pergolla, which the owner will equip with numerous ” treasures “.

Community Garden

Through the initiative of the Tourism & Culture Association Wackersdorf-Steinberg am See, as well as the Garden and local beautification Associations, in cooperation with Erwin Kiefer, the first beds of the community garden were established. Further development, designing and implementation was done with our support and permaculture advice.
